Great British Spring Clean

Join forces with a range of partners – from big business and trusts to community groups and councils – to get rubbish off the ground, safely collected and recycled.

The Great British Spring Clean is the nations biggest mass participation environmental campaign.

The campaign by Keep BritainTidy encourages the public to make a real difference in their communities by either hosting or participating in a litter pick.

There are lots of reasons why it’s important to get involved. In Scotland 475 pieces of litter are dropped every minute, reaching a grand total of 250 million items per year.

Litter is an anti-social behaviour which is a blight on our environment and a financial burden. This is highlighted by the fact that it costs Perth & Kinross Council over £2 million per annum to clear up litter. Paying for the clean-up also diverts money away from other public services like schools and roads.
