Developing Community Energy in Perth & Kinross

19th February, 2025 | 09:30 - 14:30

Rm 410 @ The Council Building, 2 High Street, Perth PH1 5PH | FREE

Community Energy Scotland, in partnership with Perth & Kinross Council (PKC) and Bable Smart Cities, invite community groups based in Perth & Kinross to attend a workshop that aims to help groups navigate the process of developing energy projects in their communities.

The UK government has announced the formation of Great British Energy, a publicly owned company backed by £8.3bn of new money. The company will deliver the Local Power Plan which will provide funding for local energy projects to local authorities and communities and we want communities to be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities this will bring.

The workshop will:

  • Provide a broad overview of some of the key areas where communities can make a difference.
  • Share real examples of community energy projects from across Scotland.
  • Provide an opportunity to network with other organisations with similar ambitions.
  • Share tools and resources to help you develop the knowledge and skills to drive the development of your own community energy projects.

On the day, please report to the venue reception. Tea and coffee will be available from 9:30am. The workshop itself will begin at 10am and a light lunch will be provided.
